Awka, July 20, ’25 (TNZ) The Anambra branch of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has conferred a meritorious award on the wife of Anambra governor, Dr Nonye Soludo.
TheNewsZenith report the award was in recognition of her leading role for a healthy living revolution and advancing public health advocacy.
Dr Princeston Okam, State Chairman of NMA, recognised the Wife of the Anambra State Governor during the 2025 Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference of the association in Awka.
Okam, while presenting the award, said Soludo deserved the honour for her tireless efforts and outstanding contributions to the growth of the health sector in Anambra.
“Dr Nonye Soludo, founder of the Healthy Living initiative, has consistently used her voice and position to protect child rights, promote infant and maternal health and support women’s empowerment.

“Through her widely followed platforms, she is championing wellness, nutrition and transformative social insights, reaching thousands of people with practical solutions.
“She is worthy of the award of recognition,” TheNewsZenith quoted Okam as saying.
The Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike, received the award on behalf of the governor’s wife. He said that such honour could only inspire the governor’s wife to keep using her crusade to touch more lives.
Obidike, who is also an awardees, commended members of NMA in Anambra for recognising the efforts the governor’s wife. (TNZ)
