This is as the development is already causing ripples through Nigeria’s political landscape. It is raising questions about the party’s leadership stability ahead of critical electoral cycles.

Sources hinted that Ganduje, a former two-term Governor of Kano State, tendered his resignation letter to the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) late Thursday, June 26.

Sources hinted that Ganduje’s decision stems from health condition that has increasingly limited his ability to perform his duties.

“The chairman has been battling health challenges for some time. It reached a point where he could no longer continue,” TheNewsZenith quotes a party official, who spoke anonymously, as saying.

The sudden exit of Ganduje, has sparked intense speculation about the APC’s internal dynamics. Political analysts believed he was a polarising figure known for his political acumen and controversial tenure.

Ganduje became the National Chairman of APC in August 2023, with a task to unify and strengthen the party’s position after a 2023 election cycle.

His leadership, however, faced challenges, including allegations of mismanagement and internal factionalism, which some analysts suggest may have compounded the pressures of his role. (TNZ)
