Sudan has reaffirmed its commitment to deepen bilateral relations with Nigeria in area of aviation.

Mr Mohamed Abdelmannan, Sudan Ambassador to Nigeria, said this on Wednesday in Abuja.

Abdelmannan said the two countries had established diplomatic relations since independence.

”Cooperation between both countries would be deepened through air transport to achieve meaningful growth.

”We have educational relations with Nigeria, with about 10,000 Nigerians studying across Sudan universities.

”We can have cooperation in area of crude oil too.

“Nigeria is oil producing country and Sudan also has small quantity of oil production.

”So, cooperation in this field can be fruitful for benefit of relations between us.

“Also, human resources development can deepen cooperation between the two countries to improve capacities of people.

“We are working to have direct flights between Nigeria and Sudan in this regard.

”There is direct flight now coming from Khartoum to Kano, but we do not have flight from Nigeria to Khartoum.

“We are working to have direct flights for passengers and cargo between Khartoum and Nigeria.

”Negotiation is ongoing between Sudanese civil aviation and Nigeria civil aviation,” the Ambassador said.

He hinted that Sudan had issued license for a Nigeria airline, Nissers Sky AirPower within two to three months.

He further explained the airline operation would fly between Abuja and Khartoum.

“This will also boost relations between Sudan and Nigeria and ease traffic between the people of both countries.

“All these issues can add to benefits of the continent as a whole.

“We are part of this continent, solving problems within us.

”And the results can bring about meaningful growth across Africa.”
