TESCOM inducts 124 VPs in Ogun schools

Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has inducted 124 Vice Principals as managers and administrators, to ensure more efficiency in the running of public secondary schools in the state.

Inducting the new VPs at Abeokuta Grammar School, TESCOM Chairman, Mr Olalekan Ifede charged them to compliment the efforts of their respective Principals.
TheNewsZenith reports that TESCOM elevated them from classroom teachers to join management and render supportive services to their principals.
Ifede administered the oath of office to the new Vice Principals. He expressed the determination of TESCOM to sustain and regularly improve education standards in the state.
He added that the elevation of 124 classroom teachers to VPs “is expected to bring about efficiency in the sector”.
According to him, the state government will continue to recognise and elevate deserving teachers when necessary.

“I want you to work hand-in-hand with your principals for the progress of education in the state,” he said.
Chairman of the Induction Committee and Commissioner IV at TESCOM, Mr Ademola Adeleye, said the government expects the VPs to support their principals.
“You should work for the advancement of education in your respective schools.
State Chairman of Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Comrade Akinola Abiodun, implored the new VPs to see their elevation as an opportunity to be agents of positive change.
TheNewsZenith reports that the induction signifies the end of the two-day events by TESCOM. The commission had earlier sworn in 141 Principals.
