A road traffic crash on Wednesday claimed one life and injured four others in Anambra State, according to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
Sector Commander of FRSC, Adeoye Irelewuyi, announced this in a statement in Awka.
Irelewuyi said the crash involved three vehicles; two buses with Registration Numbers AKL978XM and SKA439XA.
The third is a Howo truck with Registration Number AWK899ZQ.
He explained that the fatal road traffic crash occurred at old Asaba Park by Awka-Onitsha Expressway, at about 3.30 p.m.
The Sector Commander said speeding and a brake failure the fatal crash’s probable cause was speed and brake failure.
According to Irelewuyi, an eyewitness said that the truck driver was at speed, failed to brake while trying to get control of the vehicle and rammed into the two buses.

“The crash involves two male adults and three female adults.
“One male adult died while two male adults and two female adults sustained injuries.
“The FRSC rescue team from RS5.31A Upper-Iweka Onitsha, Anambra rushed the victims to Toronto Hospital, Onitsha where doctors confirmed one male adult dead.
“Rescue team deposited his corpse at the same hospital mortuary.
“The injured victims are currently receiving treatment, the team also ensured obstruction caused by the crash was cleared,” the Commander said.
He condoled with the family of the deceased and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured people.
Irelewuyi urged motorists to maintain a safe speed and drive within the speculated speed limits to arrive at their destination alive.
