Abeokuta, Feb. 21, ’26 (TNZ) The Muslim Congress (TMC), Ogun State Chapter, has felicitated with Muslims on the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan, which began on Wednesday, Feb. 18, corresponding to 1st Ramadan 1447 AH.
TheNewsZenith reports that the Waali of TMC in Ogun State, Dr Jamiu Folarin, in a statement, called on Muslims in Nigeria and across the world to maximise the immense spiritual and moral benefits of the holy month.
According to Folarin, the month of Ramadan offers an opportunity for the transformation of individuals, families, and society at large.
He urged Muslims to allow the lessons of Ramadan to positively reflect in their daily lives, particularly in their relationships with family members, neighbours, and adherents of other faiths.
“Muslims should use the opportunity of the 29 or 30 days of Ramadan to demonstrate the beauty of Islam to provide solutions to challenges confronting humanity,” the Waali stated.
He further admonished Muslims to abide by the commandments of Allah as contained in the Glorious Qur’an and as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad.
“We appeal to Muslims to approach this year’s Ramadan with renewed commitment and seriousness.

“This should not be as a routine spiritual exercise, but as a transformative experience whose impact will be meaningful, reassuring, and sustainable,” TheNewsZenith further quotes from the statement.
The organisation also enjoined Muslims to pray for the continued peace, progress, and development of Ogun State and Nigeria.
This is especially in view of the socio-economic and political challenges facing the nation.
“The Muslim community should also pray for the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary to discharge their responsibilities with justice, fairness, and sincerity for the overall benefit of the people,” the statement noted.
Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, TMC urged Muslims to pray for peaceful, credible, and successful elections.
The organisation further prayed for the emergence of God-fearing, competent, and visionary leaders who will move Ogun State and Nigeria to greater heights atvthe end of the democratic process. (TNZ)
