Results of the census will be a key reference for various stakeholders, including government administrations, economic operators and the scientific community.

It would also be useful to international bodies that focus on sustainable development goals, according to the report.

The North African country previously conducted two general agricultural censuses in 1973 and 2001, respectively.

The agriculture sector contributed 11.6 per cent to Algeria’s GDP in 2022, according to the World Bank. (Xinhua)
