Armed clashes in Libya worry Arab League

The Arab League (AL), on Wednesday, voiced deep concerns over armed clashes that have killed 27 in Tripoli, the Libyan capital.

In a statement, the AL called for an immediate cessation of the violence.

The violence has ravaged relative stability in the city in the past months. AL urged all Libyan authorities to take necessary measures to restore stability.

“The recent clashes reaffirmed the importance of unifying the state institutions swiftly.

“And there is a need to complete the transitional period via elections soon,” it added.
