FG’s N45k monthly stipend to technical students, novel – TMV

Abuja, June 20, ’25 (TNZ) The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) have applauded the federal government’s move to start paying N45,000 monthly stipends to students of technical colleges in the country.

TMV chairman, Chukwudi Enekwechi, gave the commendation in a statement mailed to TheNewsZenith on Friday in Lagos.

Enekwechi said the move will encourage improved enrollment in technical colleges, describing it as novel.

“This payment will serve as an incentive to improve the capacity of the graduates of the technical colleges.

“Also, the skills acquisition from the colleges will aid the students to survive in their pursuit.

“That the government also plans to support and equip the students on graduation to set up mini industries for themselves is encouraging.

“We do not doubt that graduates of the technical colleges will enhance the productivity of Nigeria’s industries.

“This is because they will bring the technical knowledge they have acquired to the industry.

“Many developed countries like China, Korea, Japan, and others rose to their status with the numerous technical skills their youths acquired while growing up,” TheNewsZenith quotes the statement as reading in part.

The group also expressed delight that the federal government has incorporated artificial intelligence and cybersecurity into the Higher National Diploma (HND) curriculum.

This is to promote technical knowledge education in the country.

It added that the government’s approach to boosting enrollment in technical colleges was an indication of the Tinubu administration’s quest to restore the glory days of technical and vocational education training in the country. (TNZ)
