India assumes G20 presidency – PM

India, on Thursday, formally took over the presidency of the Group of 20 (G20), according to the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said India’s G20 presidency would work to promote a universal sense of oneness.

Last month Modi unveiled the logo and the theme for India’s G20 presidency.

The logo depicts a lotus flower and a globe, and the theme for India’s G20 presidency is “One Earth, One Family, One Future”.

The G20 is an inter-governmental forum of the world’s major developed and developing economies. (Xinhua)
