Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran (JANDOR) has criticised Lagos State House of Assembly on plans to enact laws that favour only Yoruba indigenes in matters of property and business acquisition.
The NewsZenith reports that Adediran is the Lagos PDP governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections.
His criticism is contained in a statement issued by Gbenga Ogunleye, Head, Media & Communications
JANDOR4Governor Campaign Organisation, on Friday in Lagos.
The NewsZenith reports that the Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, had said that the lawmakers would reverse all that is reversible to protect the interest of Lagos indigenes.
Obasa made the comment during his acceptance speech after his re-election as the Speaker of the State Assembly,
Adediran condemned the offensive statement credited to the Speaker.
He, therefore, called for a public apology to all the residents of the state.
He cautioned that public officeholders must eschew all tendencies that can further hurt the fragile peace in the state after the unwarranted attacks on a section of residents during the general elections.

Adediran stated that non-Yoruba-speaking residents have made huge economic contribution of the to Make Lagos a state.
“Any serious government should be acknowledged the contributions of such people.
“A serious government should protect welfare and safety of such people, rather than making reckless and volatile utterances.
“True Lagos indigenes, unlike Speaker Obasa and his likes, are tolerant and accommodating to Nigerians from all walks of life.
“The true spirit of Lagos is liberality offering opportunities to all residents to achieve their full potential without biases or segregation,” he said.
The PDP flagbearer noted that Lagos has been fair to the likes of Obasa, who are not true indigenes but occupy elective offices since the commencement of this democratic dispensation in 1999.
He described as unfortunate, situation where people, privileged to enjoy liberality of Lagos, are now threatening peaceful stay of others.
“Those whose palm kernels were cracked for them by a benevolent spirit should not forget to be humble,” Adediran said.
