The Police have charged 52-year-old Adebayo Oyebamiji before an Ejigbo Magistrate’s Court for allegedly obtaining N640,000 fraudulently.
Oyebamiji, whose residential address was not provided, is standing trial on a two-count charge of stealing and fraud.
The prosecutor, ASP Benedict Aigbokhan, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Aug. 24, at 11.00 a.m. at No. 12, Losa St., Valley Estate, Akowonjo, Lagos.
According to Aigbokhan, the defendant fraudulently obtained the N640,000 from one Mrs Bolarin Temitayo.

He added that the defender collected the money under a false pretext of using it to print a textbook known as “Verbal Aptitude” book five but failed to do so.
The Prosecutor said that the defendant converted the said money to his personal use.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge, preferred against him by the police.
The Magistrate, Miss K. A. Ariyo, granted him a N200,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.
Ariyo ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed and must show evidence of tax payments to the Lagos State Government.
She also ordered that one of the surety must be a blood relative of the defendant.
Ariyo adjourned the case until Dec. 19 for mention.
