Police nab 20-year-old housewife for allegedly killing co-wife

The Police have arrested a 20-year-old housewife (name withheld) for allegedly killing 30-year-old co-wife of the same husband in Bauchi State.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ahmad Wakil, announced the arrest in a statement on Monday in Bauchi.

Wakil stated that the incident happened in Gar village of Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state on Nov. 22.

He explained that on that day, one 40-year-old Ibrahim Sambo of Gar village, came to Maina-Maji Divisional Police Headquarters to report the case.

Sambo alleged that his junior wife hit his senior wife with a pestle on the head.

“As a result, the victim sustained head injuries and was taken to a Primary Health-care centre in the village.

“A doctor certified her dead on arrival at the hospital,” Wakil stated.

The Police spokesperson said that on receiving the report, a team of detectives attached to the command promptly arrested the suspect.

He said the suspect and the deceased had misunderstanding, resulting into the suspect hitting her co-wife with a pestle.

The PPRO stated that the Command would prosecution suspect after investigation.
