The Bauchi State Government has approved the construction and rehabilitation of seventeen new rural and urban roads across the state to enhance citizens’ quality of life.
TheNewsZenith reports that this was part of the resolutions made during the State Executive Council meeting, presided by Gov. Bala Mohammed.
Similarly, the Council also directed that the Governor shall henceforth, approve all land allocations within and outside the state capital.
This is in line with the Bauchi State Land Use Act 2022 as amended.
Ibrahim Galadima, the Commissioner of Works and Transport, announced these while briefing journalist the outcome of the Council’s meeting in Bauchi.
Galadima said the road projects are in addition to the ongoing ones under the administration’s rural and urban renewal initiative.

On her part, the Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Hajiya Amina Katagum, said the Council approved streets naming and house numbering to enable the state align with the global base practice.
According to Katagum, this aims at facilitating the provision of basic amenities to households. It will also enhance the security of lives and properties.
Other memos approved during the Council’s meeting are reversal of the operations of the Yankari Transport Corporation from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to the Ministry of Works and Transport.
There were also the movement of the Federal Medical Center Azare to Misau Local Government Area.
The Counsil also proposed the introduction of State Emergency Services and Ambulance system to take effective care of accident victims.
