The Nigeria Olympics Committee (NOC) has invited the nations Under-16 female basketball team to participate in a preparatory tournament in Dakar.
TheNewsZenith reports that the invitation is a significant step toward the upcoming Youth Olympic Games in Dakar 2026.
”NOC proudly announced that the invitation comes from the Local Organising Committee of the Youth Olympic Games,” Tony Nezianya, the Public Relations Officer of NOC said in a statement on Thursday.
Nezianya explained that the tournament would provide invaluable experience and exposure to the young athletes.
It would also equip them with insights into the standards and expectations they will face during the Games.

The event, titled the “Festival of Games,” is scheduled for Nov. 6 to Nov. 10th in Dakar.
