Killing: Court remands 10 suspected cultists for allegedly

From Our Correspondent

A Chief Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Makurdi on Monday, ordered that 10 suspected cultists be remanded in a correction centre for allegedly killing a 22-year-old boy, Samson Ajekonye.

The suspects, who live at various addresses in Apa LGA, are facing charges of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide.
Prosecuting counsel, Insp Godwin Ato, told the court that the State CID, Makurdi transferred the case from Ugbokpo Police Division in Apa Local Government Area (LGA) via a letter dated July 10.
Ato said a member of Community Volunteer Guards, Peter Usman in Apa, reported the matter at Ugbokpo Police Station.
The complainant, Usman, said some persons suspected to be cultists went to home of Ajekonye and macheted him to death.
