Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Idowu Owohunwa, has approved the dismissal of one Insp. Kabiru Odeyemi, over the death of a generator technician, Bakare Idris.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed this in a statement on Wednesday.
Hundeyin said that the dismissal paves the way for Odeyemi’s arraignment on Friday, July 7.
He said Owohunwa assured residents of his determination to police Lagos within rule of law and respect for human life.
The NewsZenith recalls that Odeyemi allegedly shot Idris dead on May 28 in Oregun area of Lagos.

He was serving under Alausa Police Division when the incident occurred.
The deceased brother had narrated to the Police that both of them were returning from a party around Oregun when he heard gunshots, which killed his brother.
Hundeyin stated that when the DPO finally got the suspect, who was not supposed to be on duty on the day of the incident, the claimed that he took the victim to an emergency centre, where he died.
