The Federal Toad Safety Corps (FRSC) says it has begun massive production of the National Drivers License (NDL) to clear a backlog of applications.
The Acting Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide, announced this in a statement emailed to TheNewsZenith on Thursday in Lagos.
Ogungbemide said FRSC had produced 73, 740 NDL in two weeks.
He said the Corp Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, had introduced a strategic intervention mechanism for clearing the backlogs of licenses.
“The NDL Print Farm has produced 73,740 licenses in two weeks.”
TheNewsZenith recalls that on the assumption of office, the Corps Marshal paid a working visit to FRSC Print Farm.
From there, Mohammed ordered the revamping of the entire process of license production.

The alarming rate of public outcry about delays in processing applications for the license necessitated the assessment exercise.
“At the end of the assessment, the corps marshal set up a task force to ensure that the backlog is cleared in the soonest possible time,” Ogungbemide stated.
The Corps Marshal further directed a 24-hour production and immediate rectification of the identified technical glitches that affected the overall production capacity of the farm.
“Presently, 84,500 NDLs are in queue for production. We will deliver these to the respective state licensing authorities nationwide,” he said.
Mohammed assured the public of the FRSC’s commitment to quality service.
He called on applicants, especially those who have experienced a delay, to await notification and contact their state licensing offices to pick up their licenses.
