Morocco’s air traffic recovers to pre-pandemic level

Morocco announced on Tuesday that its air traffic volume in January reached the pre-pandemic level.

Airports in Morocco recorded 1,981,294 travellers in January, up by six per cent from the same period in 2019.

Also, it recorded 15,726 aircraft movements, about 94 per cent as of January that year, the Moroccan Airports Authority said in a report.

A total of 201,340 passengers took domestic flights, about 91 per cent of the same month in 2019.

The Casablanca International Airport, the biggest airport in the country, received more than 722,402 passengers in January

This represents a 92 per cent recovery from 2019.

In 2020, Morocco’s airports hosted 7,150,277 passengers, down by 71 per cent from 2019. (Xinhua)
